About Jackie Chavarria
Building Content, Systems & Campaigns
I didn’t start in marketing, I started in operations, crisis response, and client advocacy. That background shapes how I work today: I bring structure to ambiguity, and I don’t stop at “the campaign is live.” I care about whether the system behind it holds up.
For the past several years in my role as Marketing Manager, I led marketing for a government focused technology and staffing organization, where the challenge is rarely “make something creative” — it’s “make something complex and compliance heavy sound clear, human, and compelling.” That’s the work I’m best at.
How I got here:
I joined my previous employer as a receptionist in 2015, moved into Office Manager, and spent years learning how the business actually ran before I ever touched a marketing campaign. By the time I stepped into the Marketing Manager role in 2021, I understood the operational reality behind every message I’d be writing, which is exactly why the campaigns worked.
Before joining my previous employer, I worked in behavioral health and social services, coordinating care and managing crises for people who needed someone to stay calm, organized, and responsive under pressure. That’s not a typical marketing background. It’s also exactly why I’m good at stakeholder management, deadline-driven execution, and translating complicated, high-stakes information into something people can actually act on.
What I’m looking for:
I’m currently exploring Marketing Manager, Content Strategy, and Marketing Operations roles, ideally with organizations in B2B, GovCon, staffing, or technology, where the marketing challenge is complexity, not just creativity.
